Lancôme Visionnaire

We all have those products that we just can't live without and for me it's my beloved Lancôme Visionnaire. It's the kind of product you try, fall in love with and never look back. Earning cult status due to it's revolutionary results, Visionnaire is an advanced skin correcter, improving the appearance of wrinkles, pores and evenness like no other beauty serum I've tried. I apply it every morning and evening before moisturising. It's beautifully light and smells amazing, and after just a week I notice the difference immediately. It does, however come with a rather naughty price tag of £58 for 30ml, but for me it's worth every penny!

What's In My Handbag: November 2012

First up is my umbrella. I hate being skeptical but it is Autumn and no one likes getting caught in the rain! Then there's my stylish new Noteletts notebook* in which I write about 100 to-do lists a day! It's a beautiful black leather bound ruled notepad that I'm forever scribbling ideas in. Next up is my trusty Costa card. Now that the festive range has launched my little card is working overtime. The praline & cream latte is a frothy, festive dream!

I never leave the house without a glossy magazine and this month's choice is Vogue. The December issue is always one of my favourties and this year's issue came with a Fashion Insider's Christmas Guide full of fantastic gift ideas and festive weekend getaways - If you haven't already I'd urge you to go and pick it up! My iPhone is another one that never leaves my side, especially now that it has a shiny new case! I've also been loving my Topshop mixed metals necklace. It's such a great way to dress up an outfit; I think I'll be wearing it lots over Christmas.

Beauty wise I'm currently loving my Models Own nail polish in Red Red wine. I blogged about this little beauty yesterday - it's the perfect red for the party season! Matching that is Topshop lips in Wicked from the Dark Side of Nude collection. It's really easy to wear and has been one of my favourites all month. I've also been carrying around my miniature Benefit Sunbeam; I got it with last month's issue of Instyle and haven't stopped using it since. The tester size makes it perfect for my handbag too!

You can find my latest WIMH post here. I also have plenty of invites, so if any of you lovely ladies would like to join WIMH simply leave me a comment with your email address and I'll send you an invite right away.

Models Own Red Red Wine Manicure

Today's nails come courtesy of Models Own Red Red Wine; it's one of my all time favourite colours.  You can't beat a classic red nail but when it comes to Autumn I love wearing a slightly deeper shade. Red Red Wine is the perfect colour and is certainly apt for the festive season. It's really well pigmented too so you only need one coat which makes it really easy to apply. I absolutely love it!

November Everyday Make Up

Everyday make up posts aren't something I've ever really done before but after reading about all of your favourite make up products I thought it would be fun to share with you guys my current everyday make up faves. So here's a brief run through of the products I'm currently loving...

November Everyday Make Up

1. Body Shop All-In-One BB Cream - A lovely light, hydrating base that doubles up as a tinted moisturiser; you can read my full review on this product here.

2. Maybelline FIT Me Foundation - I blogged about this product a couple of weeks ago, it's my current foundation of choice mainly due to how easy it is to wear and it's lightweight, natural finish.

3. Benefit Sun Beam - I'm normally more of a High Beam girl but I got this free with copy of InStyle and I've really taken to it. It's a lot more subtle than high beam and is perfect for a natural everyday glow.

4. MAC Studio Finish Concealer - My number one concealer of all time. It's fairly heavy but it quite literally covers anything. Plus a little bit goes a really long way!

5. Maybelline Expert Wear Blush - As we're coming into winter I'm starting to wear blush instead of bronzer; this one is a beautiful colour and gives a really natural flush of colour to my cheeks.

6. Rimmel Professional Eyebrow Pencil - I'm currently loving this eyebrow pencil from Rimmel, it's super quick and easy to use with a handy eyebrow brush built into the lid.

7. Rimmel Scandeleyes Kohl Eyeliner* - I'm a complete eyeliner addict and normally use a liquid eyeliner or an eyeliner pen, however Rimmel very kindly sent me this waterproof kohl liner a few weeks ago and I haven't used anything else since.

8. Rimmel Extra Super Lash Mascara* - Mascara is never really a must-have product for me but this lash building mascara enhances my natural lashes without making them look too dramatic.

9. Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick In Black Cherry -  My go-to colour for autumn! It's a beautiful deep plum and has a perfect moisturising finish. Read my full review of this product here.

The Little Black Jacket Exhibition

Last week I visited the Saatchi Gallery to take a much anticipated wander around The Little Black Jacket Exhibition. The exhibit revisits the Chanel classic and coincides with Karl Lagerfeld's latest book release, 'The Little Black Jacket: Chanel's classic revisited'. An impressive collection of 113 portraits - all photographed by Karl himself, cover the walls of the Saatchi Gallery in Chelsea. Having heard fantastic things about the exhibition, I decided to take a little trip over to King's Road and get lost in Lagerfeld's take on the iconic Little Black Jacket.

I loved every minute and spent the entire afternoon wandering up and down the Saatchi Gallery trying to decide which portrait was my favourite. It's a beautifully diverse collection of photographs featuring everyone from Anna Wintour to Kanye West; A wonderful tribute to Coco Chanel and her legendary Little Black Jacket.

Topshop Nails in Moonshine

Although I’ve been sporting mainly nude and deep red nails so far this Autumn, my metallic and glitter nail polishes are never too far out of reach. Today I found this little bottle trapped at the back of my nail drawer - this time last year I couldn’t live without this beautiful shimmery pink metallic polish so I decided it was time to begin using it again. I’m a big fan of Topshop Nails but this has to be one of my all time favourites! I’m quite tempted to stock up ready for the day I see the dreaded words ‘discontinued’.

Tim Walker: Story Teller Exhibition

This week I took some time out to visit the Tim Walker Story Teller Exhibition at Somerset House. Tim Walker is undoubtedly one of my all time favourite photographers; with his distinctive whimsical style and unmistakable sense of childhood magic I can't help but fall in love with every picture he creates. After seeing the exhibition advertise at the beautiful Somerset House some months ago, I was extremely excited to delve into the weird and wonderful world of Tim Walker.

Upon entering the exhibition I was immediately filled with that sense of calm I get whenever I see Tim's work. He has the ability to turn our wildest dreams into realities, creating a fictional story in the most beautiful series of images. A serene, white open space was filled with whitewashed frames, grand fireplaces and extravagant props. It's quite literally like stepping into a dream...

Although busy, the East Wing at Somerset House was somewhat calming, every visitor stopping to take in every image, prop and narrative they discovered. Like a child in a strange playhouse of both fashion and art I wandered through the hallways, each room leading me into a different chapter of Walker's life and work.

'Sometimes when you're taking a picture an extraordinary sense of luck and chance takes over and propels you to make pictures that you couldn't in your wildest dreams have imagined. This is the magic of photography.' - Tim Walker

I spent hours getting lost in the mysterious collection of oversized props, stunning costumes and a breathtaking talent. Whether you're a Tim Walker fan, a photography enthusiast or generally someone who appreciates beautiful things I can't urge you enough to go and visit the exhibit.

Topshop Mighty Boots

For weeks now I've been on the hunt for some new winter boots. It's that time of year when it seems necessary to go out and purchase a few winter wardrobe staples, including a sturdy pair of boots. The only problem is I've been having trouble finding any I really love. Last year I snapped up a pair of the Topshop Ambush boots that everyone wanted. They were a lovely double zipped ankle boot that looked identical to the Acne Pistol boots. They were my staple. I lived in them and unfortunately after several months of wear the damage is beginning to show.

After weeks of trying on hundreds of pairs of boots nothing seemed to compare to my beloved Ambush boots. However, this year Topshop have released a cheaper, little sister version of my dream boots; Mighty. With only one zip and at a considerably lower price of £45 they aren't quite the real deal, but until I find 'the ones' these little booties will see me stylishly through Autumn.

Topshop Make-Up: Dark Side of Nude

Last week marked the launch of Topshop's latest make-up collection; Dark Side of Nude. Being a big Topshop Make-Up fan and having been super impressed with previous Limited Edition collections I headed straight to my local Topshop branch to try out the glamorous new collection. Inspired by 'horror heroines' the decadent nine piece Autumn/Winter collection is an ode to gothic glamour with a beautifully romantic twist. The collection offers an atmospheric palette of mushroom, slate grey, fawn and gold, vamped up with deep clarets, high-shine blacks and a touch of glitter.

Topshop Make-Up: Dark Side of Nude

After drooling over the make-up counter for what felt like forever, I eventually decided on the Eye Palette in Atmosphere, Nails in Panther and Lips in Wicked. I love the entire collection; the luxe look of the packaging and the quality of the product makes it one of Topshop's best make-up ranges to date. I could have bought the entire collection, alas my bank balance wouldn't allow it.

Topshop Make-Up: Dark Side of Nude

The main feature of the collection is the eye palette, at £16 they're relatively pricey but they really are worth every penny. The colours are gorgeous and so highly pigmented that you only need very little product to achieve a dramatic look. Both colour palettes come with three metallic shades, a small eye-shadow brush and a compact mirror. I opted for Prism which has black, bronze and silver shadows. I'm not normally much of an eye-shadow girl but this palette is so gorgeous I just had to buy it. I was really torn between the two palettes; Atmosphere has beautiful mushroom, gold and purple shades which are stunning, particularly this time of year but being a bit of a colour phobe I thought I'd get much more use out of this palette.

Next up is Nails and I'm already a big fan of Topshop Nails so naturally I wanted to buy all four of the colour options. The Dark Side of Nude polishes come in Thorn, Star Dust, Granite and Panther and have a matte black lid to differentiate them from the standard Nails collection. I opted for Panther, partly because of the name but mainly because I felt that for £6.50 it was better value to buy a glitter polish as apposed to a standard one. This polish is amazing, the black and silver glitter combined looks really effective either alone or over a black or granite nail. I've been playing around with it all afternoon and really can't wait to wear it out!

Lastly is Lips, and this has to be my biggest weakness. After looking at the collection online I was completely sold with the deep claret lipstick. Besides already having plenty of plum shades for autumn I just couldn't resist it. Aptly named 'Wicked' it's a gorgeous deep wine that really plays up the gothic edge of the entire collection. Similarly to the other products it's really well pigmented and offers a flawless, moisturising finish. With it's super sleek packaging I think it will be my go-to lipstick this winter. I absolutely love it!

The Dark Side of Nude collection also comes with cute 'Get The Look' cards which give step by step tutorials to achieve different looks. You can pick them up in-store or watch the make-up tutorials online at Topshop.com/DarkSideOfNude. I have completely fallen head over heels for this collection and I've already put the rest of it straight onto my Christmas list!

Models Own Nude Beige Manicure

At the moment I'm really loving Models Own nail polishes, and after their 50% off summer sale my collection seems to have miraculously doubled overnight. My current favourite which I mentioned in my latest What's In My Handbag post is Nude Beige. I'm really into my nudes this autumn so this beautiful fawn, dusky pink is the perfect colour. I love how nice the colour looks on and it works with every outfit.

Primark Lurex Pencil Skirt

After being hugely impressed with Primark's Autumn/Winter 2012 collection at the LOOK Show last weekend I thought I'd pop in-store to see what they had to offer. I've been lusting after lurex ever since the show so I headed to the newly renovated Oxford Street store last week to see what I could find. I've had my eye on a lurex pencil skirt from Topshop for weeks but my size always seems to be sold out, so when I saw this beautiful lurex, belted pencil skirt at the bargain price of £12 I could barely contain my excitement. I was a little skeptical about the fit, but as soon as I got home I tried it on and it fits me perfectly. I can't wait to wear it!

What's In My Handbag: October 2012

Inspired by the revolutionary site WIMH and the hundreds of posts I nose through to see all of your favourite handbag essentials, I thought it was time to share what's inside my handbag. For those of you that know me, you'll know that I love simplicity. I can't stand a messy handbag full of old train tickets and receipts. I love my handbag to be minimal, organised and tidy and after recently reading that every handbag has up to 10,000 bacteria per square inch (ewwww) I'm keen to keep it that way! These are my October handbag essentials...

WIMH: What's In My Handbag

First up is my Metropol Personal Filofax in black. I highly recommend a Filofax, they're so easily adapted to suit the individual and you can buy all sorts of extras and add-ons as you wish. My diary is my life and I couldn't live without my gorgeous filofax, I've had mine three years and it's still in great condition! Secondly, the glasses. I'm extremely short sighted so venturing out without them is a big no no. These ones are from Specsavers.

I'm rarely without one of my beloved fashion monthlies and this week's choice is Harper's Bazaar. The November issue is beautiful so if you haven't already I'd urge you to go and pick it up. My iPhone is another one that never leaves my side along with the new studded purse I picked up last week from Primark! I love that it matches my handbag and is bang on trend with it's studded front.

Beauty wise I'm currently loving my Models Own nail polish in Nude Beige, I love mannequin nails and think they look great for Autumn. Matching that is my Kate Moss Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in 003. Again I'm loving nudes for Autumn and the Lasting Finish lipsticks are really moisturising which is essential for the colder months. Chanel Chance is my go to perfume for Autumn/Winter. It's an intense, feminine fragrance that packs a punch for winter, I feel lost without it. And finally, I've already blogged about this beauty; The Body Shop All-In-One BB Cream, a handy quick fix for a moisturising touch up.

You can find my latest WIMH post here. I also have plenty of invites, so if any of you lovely ladies would like to join WIMH simply leave me a comment with your email address and I'll send you an invite right away.
