Tommy Hilfiger offered the 'Town and Country Girl' for Autumn/Winter 2012 at New York last week. Set on a Maple tree lined red-bricked runway, the show offered a nostalgic Sixties military vibe with double breasted coasts, houndstooth prints and equestrian riding boots. Oxblood red and deep aubergine shades ruled the runway in leather, tweed, mohair and velvet, all accessorised with luxe leather goods, printed silk neckerchiefs and riding hats. The showstopper though, has to be the incredible Mary Quant-esque patent double breasted trench coat... I love the modern playful take on such a well explored trend.
