March Favourites

2016 Beauty Favourites
I can't believe another month has been and gone. March seemed to be full of new beauty products so I'm excited to show you the ones that have made a good first impression!
My first favourite over the last month has to be the Laura Mercier Silk Crème Moisturising Foundation. This is a product that has been on my beauty radar for a while, and after spending some time with the Laura Mercier team at the Glamour Beauty Festival last month I finally decided to give it a go. I was matched to the shade Ivory, which is pretty much a perfect match - it has a warm undertone without being too dark. So far, I'm really impressed! It gives a very full coverage with a flawless, satin finish that doesn't dry out the skin. I'm hooked!
Next up, brushes. I've been enjoying wearing a smokey eye over the last month, particularly during the evening, so I've been experimenting with some new brushes. There are four in particular that I wanted to mention... The Zoeva 227 Soft Definer, which is the perfect blending brush and makes a subtle smokey eye so quick and easy. The Zoeva 231 Petit Crease, which has a tapered tip to really help accentuate the crease of the eye and make everything look a little bit more polished. The UBU #38 Cream Shadow Brush, which is great at blending everything out, and finally the UBU #24 Detail Brush, which is perfect for any finishing touches - I've especially enjoyed using this with the L'Oreal Paris Colour Riche Eyeshadows to add a slight shimmer to my waterline.

Now moving onto hair. Working for a haircare brand I'm fortunate enough to get to try a huge range of products. And while it's a great way to see what works for me without having to commit to a purchase, it also means my expectations have been heightened dramatically. So two haircare favourites in one month is kind of a big deal.

Redken isn't a brand I shop regularly but when I do I'm very rarely disappointed, and that rule definitely applies with the Fashion Work 12 Hairspray. It's really fine mist that can be layered depending on the amount of hold you need. The added benefit is that it's packed with Vitamins C and E to protect the hair, so you don't get that heavy, sticky coating that most hairsprays leave. It's kind of pricey for an everyday hairspray, but you certainly get what you pay for with this.

The OGX Coconut Milk Shampoo and Conditioner are next on the list. I've seen everyone rave about the OGX haircare products so I decided it was time to try them myself. I had an internal struggle with which range to go for, seeing as there's so much choice, but my deep love for coconut eventually led me to the Coconut Milk Shampoo and Conditioner. In just one wash my hair felt seriously smooth, hydrated and smelt incredible! I'll definitely be trying more from the OGX range over the next few months.

Last but not least is the Calvin Klein Sheer Beauty Eau de Toilette. For as long as I can remember I haven't strayed from my signature Chanel Chance Eau de Parfum. However, more recently I've been building up a fragrance collection to try and offer myself a little more choice. I love the simplicity of this bottle, and the fragrance itself is a really fresh, floral scent with a lovely musky undertone - perfect for Spring!
